For as long as I can remember, I have always loved THINGS. I don’t mean in a materialistic way, I mean in a way where I hold a strong sentimental attachment to objects that a lot of people would consider junk. I’m actually dumbfounded at the way most people look at things as just THINGS. Childhood toys, that embarrassing prom dress, obnoxious costume jewelry passed down from Grandma – the idea of donating or throwing that stuff away actually makes my heart sad. To me, these objects – these THINGS – each represent a tiny little fleeting moment in my life that I can never get back.
It’s like that time when you were helping your parents clean out the attic of the house you grew up in and you found the torso-less bottom half of your little brother’s favorite GI Joe – Pathfinder (Jungle Assault Specialist). If you had somehow overlooked it and the new family moving in had found it, they would have simply looked at it as a piece of trash and thrown it away. When YOU find it, however, you immediately find yourself right back in 1992 looking at the devastated look on your brother’s face, praying to god he doesn’t start crying, all while formulating a story in your head that you are going to try and sell to your mom which ends with you NOT being in trouble. That is a moment you might have forgotten had it not been for finding that silly little piece of plastic, but also a moment you never want to let go of.
THAT feeling is what I aim to create with every one of my photographs. It is often not through the standard, traditional poses you might have expected (we will still do those, too), but instead the fleeting moments of your life you might have tragically forgotten had I not been the voice behind the camera. These moments might take place at your wedding, a family party, a sporting event – anywhere you find yourself interacting with people you love, creating little pieces of awesome that you never want to let go of. No matter what the occasion, I will be there to save these moments from extinction and I will do so in the same bold, colorful way in which you experienced them firsthand. -Michele (with ONE L)
OWNER/LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER/EDITOR | Michele with One L (Get it? One L Photography?) studied Art Education with a Fine Arts focus in Painting, Drawing, and Digital Media at Penn State but decided 3 weeks into Senior Year NOT to become a teacher (or an artist). She got a job at her gym while she figured out what she wanted to do with her life and after a number of very successful years in the fitness industry, it seemed to be a keeper. Then in 2012, having always remained the friend with the [fancier than necessary] camera, she helped a photographer friend by taking a vacation day to assist with a Friday wedding and FELL IN LOVE. Fast forward through the 2012-2015 wedding seasons of assisting that same photographer and Michele was approached to be the headlining photographer at a friend's wedding… and One L Photography LLC was born on August 29, 2015. Michele officially became a Full-Time Photographer in February 2020.

Outside of photography, Michele is a wife (est 2021), mother of two boys (est 2019 & 2022), dog mom to two Great Danes, and a powerlifter going through a VERY long off-season. She’s a crazy perfectionist with a foul mouth who loves obnoxiously bold colorful things, proper spelling and grammar, pretty skies, traveling to Mexico, orange Mustangs, and winning.
ASSISTANT PHOTOGRAPHER | Michelle also began working in the photography industry in 2012 as a photography assistant for another local studio. She began second shooting weddings for One L on occasion in 2017 and officially came on as Michele’s right hand (and sometimes left) in 2019.

Michelle works as a Talent Acquisition Specialist by day and is also a wife (est 2010), mother of two boys (est 2007 & 2010), dog mom to two much smaller dogs, and a pretty badass writer (check out her blog Philly Mommy Mouth). With all these weird parallels, it should come as no surprise that she is One L’s best friend, too. She’s extremely competitive, equipped with an unmatched sailor mouth, and will gladly sit down and discuss all of the inner workings of your subconscious mind anytime you want.
